A little about Cornwall...

Cornwall (2001 population 45,640, metropolitan population 57,581) is a city in eastern Ontario, Canada and seat of the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, Ontario, located on the St. Lawrence River, as well as Highway 401 near the Ontario-Quebec border. It is approximately 100 kilometres south-east from Ottawa, Canada's capital, via Highways 417 and 138, and 100 km west of Montreal, Quebec's largest metropolis.

The city of Cornwall hosts various festivals and special community events throughout the year. These include the Canada Day festivities, Gay pride festival, as well as the very popular "Lift Off" hot air balloon festival which draws as many as 15,000 people to Cornwall for the concerts and hot air balloons.

Attractions:
The Cornwall Regional Art Gallery is located at 164 Pitt Street. Open year round, it features 2 gallery spaces with monthly rotating exhibits. Special events include art classes, annual juried exhibitions and Christmas craft sale.
Marina 200 is a 167 slip transient marina which was completed in 1984. Facilities available to boaters include electrical hook-up, fuelling station, water and pump-out facilities, shower, rest rooms, Laundromat, telephones, and a dock attendant on duty 24 hours a day. Marina 200 is located on the waterfront in downtown Cornwall.
The Cornwall Community Museum is located in Lamoureux Park in the Wood House and presents a collection of Canadiana household furnishings, clothing, and other articles which depict Eastern Ontario's historical past and Loyalist heritage.
Events:
Arts in the Park Premier performances, puppets, pœtry & prose! Shakespeare! Musical interludes! Every summer the Lion's Club Bandshell in Lamoureux Park in Cornwall is the setting for "Arts in the Park", a unique treat of over 30 events that showcase local artists and international touring companies, musicians and writers.
Canada Day is celebrated in style with a giant birthday party held all day long. Activities include concerts in Lamoureux Park, a parade and a giant fireworks display.
Apples & Arts Studio Tour is held at the end of September. This autumn driving tour features the works of artists and artisans in the Seaway Valley. Visitors are invited to tour the home studios of local painters, potters, sculptors, wood crafters, fabric artists and more.
