The Dorset Square Hotel
|
In 1787, Thomas Lord chose Dorset Square to lay down a cricket ground which, in 1814, moved a mile north to what is now known as Lords Cricket Ground. Dorset Square Hotel is one of the Regency buildings surrounding the tree-filled gardens that would have had a grandstand view of the game in those days. Everything about the hotel is individual. The rooms are decorated in the grand English country house style with antiques and original art. Bathrooms are a modern yet traditional mix of marble and mahogany. The first floor bedrooms have balconies and beautiful views overlooking the square. The Potting Shed restaurant and bar offers excellent food and wine. Regent*s Park is only a short walk away and Bond Street, the West End theatres and the City*s business centre are within easy reach by taxi, bus or underground.
